The images in the exhibition, Being & Nothingness, are unassuming yet distinctive. They are subtle. They are gentle. They are similar to Cinnamon’s pristine white spaces, designed by the Italian, Andrea Anastasio whose ideas throng through time. The person behind Cinnamon – Radhika Poddar – is involed with it in every detail and the stores (located in Bangalore and Cochin) speak the same language as her own style.

Photography and Cinnamon have a deep connection. The store interiors and products at Cinnamon are appealing and many renowned photographers have taken photographs and reproduced them extensively. Even before it had become fashionable for art galleries to do photography shows, Cinnamon had already showcased the works of Dayanita Singh, Ketaki Sheth and Navin Kishore. The entrance to Cinnamon sets the mood for the design experience. Stainless steel doors swing into a courtyard shaded by a great leafy tree over a cafe.

The traditional becomes trendy at every turn in Cinnamon. Sensorial experiences are essentially the top note here – incense for the aroma, textiles for the fingertips, world music for aural harmony, blended colours to contemplate on, the courtyard café and tapas bar to tease the taste buds.

The 2000 sq. ft. store stocks lines from leading names in fashion – Vivek Narang, Salt, Rasa, Pero, Mallika Mathur, Priyadarshini Rao and others. Also on offer are rich Pashmina shawls, old Textiles and a special range of handloom saris and Dupattas by Khoj. Weavers from villages in Bengal, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh have woven the saris in an effort to revive dying traditions. The jewellery collection comprises of both, old pieces as well as unusual contemporary designs. Following the practise of fine stores worldwide, Cinnamon identifies colours for each season and all the products it displays respond to this palette. Cinnamon takes pride in the fact that its products are made in India, and showcases the finest in Indian design, home and fashion.

The press and Cinnamons clientele have been very generous in their praise for the range, selection and ingenuity of the merchandise on a regular basis.
