Tim Hall, a British Fine Art
Photographer based in London, specializes in portraits,
landscapes and seascapes. He is a graduate of
the University of Manchester, and began his career
as staff photographer for the London-based Redferns
Music Picture Library.
During the 1990s, he lived and worked in Southeast
Asia, which led to the publication of several
books on countries in the region, including bestsellers
as Cambodia: A Portrait and Back to Mandalay.
He also photographed the indigenous people of
the area, and these romantic and often insightful
portraits are seen in his Golden Faces
and Hanoi People series.
In 1997, Tim shot a cross-section
of Hong Kong society to mark the end of British
rule. The Hong Kong People Collection
was exhibited around the world. In 2003, He journeyed
to India, where he worked on an exhibition series
entitled Pilgrimage that follows
the life of the inhabitants of the ancient city,
Varanasi.
Tim recently made a move into
landscape photography. His Dune Collection
captures the sensuality of the shifting sands
at dawn in the Sahara desert, and his latest project,
the Coast Collection, depicts
seascapes and beach scenes of England.
Tim Hall’s work has been
exhibited and sold in top galleries across the
world, including the Lan Kwai Fong Gallery in
Hong Kong and the Nehru Centre and Blenheim Crescent
in London. Institutions and art collectors worldwide
have bought his work.
